Tessitura is pleased to announce the newest members of the company’s board of directors. 

As a nonprofit member-owned cooperative, Tessitura is governed by leaders of the arts and culture organizations that use its technology.

The new board members are Tania Castroverde Moskalenko, Chief Executive Officer of Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation; Aidan Connolly, Executive Director at Irish Arts Center; Zachary Haines, Chief Technology Officer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and Cookie Ruiz, Executive Director of Ballet Austin.

These four board members represent important constituencies of Tessitura users, which number 800 performing arts and admissions-based arts and culture organizations. Tessitura serves teams in 10 countries, in locations from North America to Europe to Australia and New Zealand.

Tania Castroverde Moskalenko, Chief Executive Officer of Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation (SPAF), brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic approach to arts leadership. For over 20 years, she has been leading complex performing arts institutions and guiding them through strategic, financial and operational turnarounds. She is recognized as a results-driven leader with a proven track record of philanthropic outcomes, programmatic excellence and social impact. Tania brings her knowledge and expertise in organizational transformation, capacity building, strategic planning, programming, facility operations and expansion, fund development, capital campaigns and community development to champion the vision for a new Sarasota Performing Arts Center at the heart of The Bay.

Tessitura President and CEO Andrew Recinos shared the story of Tania’s fundraising success at Miami City Ballet in his 2022 keynote presentation at the Tessitura Learning & Community Conference in Denver, Colorado.

Aidan Connolly serves as Executive Director of Irish Arts Center (IAC) in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Since his appointment in 2007, he has led the transformation of IAC into one of New York’s most dynamic multidisciplinary institutions through the development of numerous presenting programs, residencies, festivals, collaborations, commissions and institutional partnerships; revenue growth from $690,000 to $6 million; and the development of a fully funded $60 million state-of-the-art new facility from concept to completion. Prior to his current position, Aidan spent a decade working in politics and government in New York and nationally, serving on the Gore 2000 presidential campaign, as NYC Finance Director for the NYS Democratic Senate Campaign committee in 2002, and from 2003–2007 as senior advisor, political director and chief of staff for the NYS Senate Deputy Democratic Leader.

Zachary Haines is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), where he leads the IT and Audio-Visual departments and oversees the implementation of innovative technologies that enhance mission delivery, operational efficiency and customer experience. With a strong background in IT and a passion for leveraging continuous improvement to drive business growth and mission, Zac has been instrumental in transforming the organization's digital landscape. Before joining MFAH, Zac served as the Vice President of Information Technology for Goodwill Industries of Central Texas (GICT), where he successfully supported retail and social service operations across 13 counties and 40 locations. During his tenure, the organization won the Texas Award for Performance Excellence and was an active participant in the NIST Baldridge Performance Excellence Program.

Cookie Gregory Ruiz has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, organizational development and nonprofit fundraising/management. Since 2002, she has held the professional designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (C.F.R.E.) by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 1996, Cookie joined the staff of Ballet Austin as Development Director. She became Executive Director in 1997. Her community honors include Austin Business Journal’s Profiles in Power Award, Leadership Austin’s Community Trustee Award, Austin Community Foundation’s Award for Excellence as a Nonprofit Executive, The American Red Cross Clara Barton Medal of Honor, Volunteer of the Year for the Austin Independent School District, the Lone Star Girl Scout Council Women of Distinction Award, the Con Mi Madre Corazon Award, the Junior League of Austin’s Volunteer Extraordinaire Award, the 2020 IACT Hope Award and First Tee Austin’s 2020 Robert W. Hughes Philanthropic Leadership Award. Cookie serves on the board of Texans for the Arts, the national board of directors of the Performing Arts Alliance, the board of directors of Housing Works Austin and is a fellow of the National Arts Strategies International Chief Executive Program.
